The Swim Liverpool Programme have very good links with all key partners and swimming clubs from the local Liverpool area, Merseyside, North West and National swimming authorities and work closely as a club and via individuals to ensure the authority supports all activities, developments and new initiatives. The Swim Liverpool programme is also involved with a swimmer, teacher and coach mentor scheme via Stroke Technique and Swim Skills Clinics to the local swimming club members, aimed particularly at the younger age group of swimmer and so developing further our strong partnership, support network and the opportunity to enhance the skills of all to the highest level possible.

We have a proud history of producing many Regional, National and International Champions and British, European and Commonwealth Record holders including Olympic Medallists, such as Helen, Andrew Jameson and Stephen Parry. The most recent International medallists to come out of the Swim Liverpool scheme are Michael Rock and Francesca Halsall.

One of our principal aims is to encourage all our members to achieve their full potential and ambitions within the wide ranging field of aquatic sport through providing the swimmers with the opportunity to train and compete at the highest level with the best coaching team and in an equal opportunity environment. The City of Liverpool Swimming Club has many different and varied sections including Competitive Swimmers, Masters, Open Water, Waterpolo, Disabled, Biathlon, Triathlon and Modern Pentathlon Competitors.

Our masters section is growing and producing both National, European and World Champions, our Waterpolo section is well established and the City of Liverpool SC Ladies team is competing not only in the British National League but also on the European League and has many GB Squad members, our Disability section is growing and we currently have team members on the GB Squad programme, and a large number of our members are competing on a local, national and international stage in Biathlon, Biathle, Triathlon and even Modern Pentathlon competitions including the 2010 World Biathle Championships in Dubai.

To this end, the opening of the "Liverpool Aquatics Centre 50m Pool" in March 2008 has added greatly to our training and competition programme and assisted many of our swimmers in gaining selection to the English Talent Development Programme, Ace Programme and GB World Class Programmes.

Our current Chief Coach, Mike Roberts is also heading up one of the English Talent Development Programmes in the North West and has been selected on to the GB Level 3 program. Mike has many years of experience and has produced many swimmers who have gone on to represent their country and become national champions.

The Swim Liverpool Programme have well established links with all Universities in Liverpool and mutually support students who come to the City to study and wish to compete and train at the highest level. Both Liverpool & John Moores Universities offer a sports scholarship scheme and Liverpool City Council Swimming Development Section is very supportive and offer students very competitive training fees to assist them in living and studying in the city. We are developing our Student / Senior Swimming section as part of our long term development plan and with the offer to train and compete in the Liverpool Aquatics Centre, 50m pool this has given our overall programme a massive boost and is establishing the Swim Liverpool Council programme & City of Liverpool SC as a major force in all aquatic sports.

Through both the Arena Junior Inter Swimming League and the Arena National Swimming League the City of Liverpool Swimming Club have identify a large number of "talented swimmers over the years". The Leagues have given many swimmers, vital, friendly competitive experience, which has helped them to progress onto the national stage as an individual and also into the World Class Programmes.
